Many Ways to Make a Difference
Put your energy and talents to good use. We have volunteer opportunities that take as little as a few hours per month. You can help with a one-time project or come every week. We welcome individuals as well as groups.
About 250 people currently volunteer with us. They fill many roles at our emergency shelter, community kitchen, and administrative offices. If you don’t see something that fits your skills and interest, call us. We will design a volunteer option around your time and skills.
We will provide all the training you need. For more information on any of these opportunities, contact Adrian Elliott at 860.225.0211 ext. 214 or email to aelliott@fsc-ct.org.
Please consider donating today.
Your donations, no matter how big or small, enable us to continue our mission of love and friendship.
Ways to Help
See What’s Cookin’
Perhaps you would like to help by preparing or serving meals in our community kitchen, particularly the noon meal Monday thru Friday. The shift schedules during the week are 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. for the evening meal. We can also use help on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
If you would like more information, please contact Adrian Elliott, our Volunteer Coordinator, by phone at 860-225-0211, x-214, or write to Adrian at aelliott@fsc-ct.org.
Hop On Board
If you have an interest in non-profit governance, the Friendship Center’s Board of Directors or Trustees might be your cup of tea. Directors meet monthly and Trustees meet quarterly in the Mabel Yeterian Board Room at 85 Arch Street in New Britain.
For more information, contact Barbara Lazarski, our Interim Executive Director, by phone at 860-225-0211, x-202, or write to Barbara at Info@fsc-ct.org.
Be a Friend
The Friends of the Friendship Service Center are the “icing on the cake” when it comes to volunteers. The Friends meet monthly on second Tuesdays at noon (except during the summer). The auxiliary adopts thoughtful and creative projects that give an added and important dimension to Friendship Center life.

Fundraising Events
Join us for one of our events held during the year or consider hosting your own to benefit the Friendship Center. These may take the form of bowl-a-thons, Casual Day at corporations, or any creative idea you may have.
