Adopt-A-Family

The Adopt-A-Family program began as a way to help families that were transitioning from shelter to their own apartment with Thanksgiving baskets and gifts for Christmas. For many years we have witnessed the smiles and joys that have filled the hearts of the families involved in our program thanks to the generosity of partners like you.

Participating in the Friendship Center Adopt-A-Family program for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas is a great way to provide support to your community!  The families in our Housing Programs are an ongoing part of the Friendship Center family, as are you through your donations. Last year, Thanksgiving baskets as well as Christmas gifts were provided to 80+ families. This year, we would like to provide for even more families. Won’t you consider helping us provide the families of Greater New Britain a brighter holiday season? Your donations give our families memories that last forever.

Thanksgiving: If you would like to provide a Thanksgiving basket, please refer to the attached file “Thanksgiving Basket Items” which can be used as a guide to purchase food items. The dates for drop offs will announced.

Christmas: If you would like to Adopt-A-Family, you may be a Gift Sponsor and receive a family’s wish list of gift suggestions to assist with shopping and we will wrap and deliver to the family or you may be a Financial Sponsor and a volunteer will shop on your behalf.

Angel Trees: Your Angel Tree donations helps keep joy and hope alive for local families. During the holidays churches, and organizations create Angel Trees to help the Friendship Center provide cold weather items, socks, and household items for our individuals and families in need.
